It’s time for our May meeting on Monday the 15th! Our own SDRS Rose Show, as well as the ARS Combined Mini National/PSWD/Pacific Rose Society Rose Show and Convention, have come and gone. Because of the weather this spring, we ended up breaking all know records on the amount of blooms entered into our show. If you weren’t able to make it to the show, please visit the Rose Albums section to view all the many trophy winners for the 2017 show as well as other shows. Now it’s time to continue with our monthly meetings and it’s also time for garden tours.

Monday – May 15th General Meeting – Guest speaker will be Tom Perkins, Sales Manager of Flexrake Inc. His background is of a successful career in Organic Garden and Innovative Products and Tools, now on a national level. Our program will start at 7:30pm. Prior to that, we are having our Annual May Potluck Dinner! It begins at 6:30pm. Please bring a dish to feed eight , serving utensils and your own plates, napkins and utensils. Assignments are by the first letter of your last name: A-G Main Dish, H-Q Salad or Side Dish, R-Z Dessert.

Update on our ARS National VP, Bob Martin!

Bob has now served as Vice President of the American Rose Society since September2015. Under the bylaws of the ARS, the Vice President serves for three years and then automatically becomes President of the American Rose Society for a three-year term. Bob will be installed at the ARS National Convention being held in San Diego, late October, 2018! Watch for details as we get closer! (more…)
